Families of children who attend public school in Orleans Parish are invited to attend our annual “Blessing of the Backpacks” to receive free back-to-school supplies!

Backpacks and supplies are generously provided by St. Charles Avenue Presbyterian Church and Berean Presbyterian Church.

This event is specifically geared towards children and families in the Pigeontown Neighborhood (aka Leonidas, Carrolton Riverbend, Pensiontown).

Youth and families will also have the opportunity to sign up for our fall Intergenerational Gardening Apprentice Program and other programs geared towards young people at Okra Abbey.
